Group President & Business Development Director

Summary:

Responsible for overall growth of TransPecos Banks in western Texas through the development of relationships with new and existing customers, community-oriented involvement, and people strategies that develop a highly engaged workforce.

• Works closely with Chief Credit Officer to create a business development culture with strong underwriting practices that is clearly aligned with organizational values and operating principles.

• Oversees the regional loan portfolio to assess risk, manage it, and take action to maintain and improve asset quality.

• Keeps executive team apprised of any considerations affecting the loan portfolio quality, profitability, risk, and growth.

• Coordinates the implementation of lending policy, procedure and practice in the region to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

• Coordinates with team for loan reviews, examination, and or other audits as necessary.

• Regional business development responsibility to ensure excellence in customer relations, service, and business development.

• Development of staff in lending, credit analysis, loan operations, and collections to ensure individual and organizational success.

• Executes marketing plans & strategies with business development team, and regional staff to deliver new products and extend relationships.

• Provides active community leadership as the senior lender for the region.

• Increases brand awareness and equity throughout the West Texas market.

• Responsible for overall growth, maintenance, and financial health of regional loan portfolio.

• Underwrites agricultural, industrial, real estate, and commercial loans for region based on financial analysis and customer character.

• Active contributor to regional strategic plans & budgets.

• Carries out responsibilities with professionalism, respect for others, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

Any other duties as assigned.

Key Deliverables:

  • Development of significant new deposit and loan relationships
  • Development of market strategies for region
  • Year over year growth in loan & deposit portfolio and fee income

Organizational Structure:

Reports to: Chief Credit Officer

Supervises: Loan Officers (0-3) & Loan Assistants (0-3)

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills:

  • 5+ years experience in credit underwriting
  • Broad-based understanding of banking fundamentals

Desired Knowledge/Skills:

MBA

  • 5+ years in banking operations.
  • 5+ years experience in Agricultural Lending
