Deposit Operations Manager & Compliance Officer –

Location: San Antonio

Summary:

Responsible for overall central deposit operations function. Develops excellence in deposit operations through the development of relationships with internal customers, vendors, community-oriented involvement, and people strategies that develop a highly engaged workforce.

• Works closely with Sr. VP & Retail Service Manager to create a culture of best practices that is clearly aligned with organizational values and operating principles to support branch operations.

• Manage daily operations, resolve problems, and continuously improve central deposit operations functions including:

• Deposits systems, reg cc compliance, return transit items, response to legal actions, non-post items/exception reports, treasury reclamations, research U adjustments, dormant file maintenance, reporting of Abandoned Property (Escheat), ACH Processing, Incoming & Outgoing Collections, Charge-Off & Collections, Conduct Monthly/Quarterly Audits for Department, Quality Control of Data Entry, Card Operations Settlement/Reconciliation, Card Operations Regulatory Compliance, Signature Card Imaged Files, ATM Location Sites, Fraud Prevention & Processing, Wires

• Research, analysis, and development of recommendations for continuous improvement in work process, cost controls, and technology. Responsible for project management and implementation in deposit operations initiatives.

• Collaborate with retail services, finance/accounting, business development, and other departments to ensure effective delivery of products and services to bank customers.

• Keep executive team apprised of any considerations affecting the quality, efficiency and integrity of Deposit Operations.

• Supervisory responsibility in the selection, development, training, and performance management of deposit operations team. Develop staff in deposit operation functions and compliance to develop bench strength and ensure individual and organizational success.

• Responsible for departmental compliance, loss control, affirmative action, audit, and audit initiatives.

• Develop, maintain and enhance operational components of TransPecos Banks Continuity Plan.

• Cross sell bank services and refer customers to appropriate bank departments by being attentive to customer needs.

• Participate in industry events, user groups, community activities, and bank appointed committees as assigned.

• Develop annual business plan, departmental budget, and controls to meet or exceed budget and expenses. Explain variances to retail services manager and CFO.

• Carries out responsibilities with professionalism, respect for others, in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge/Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Related Field

• 3 years management experience

• 5 years experience in banking

• Demonstrated ability in supervising and managing core deposit operations

• Demonstrated success in building successful high performance work teams.
